Day 59/180: going over the lab without doing the lab
I generally think that kids are capable of a lot more than people (adults) believe, but it stinks when that belief is broken. I was told that instead of letting students go to work on the lab, that I should walk them through an iteration, as well as the calculations. That seems to be a whole lot of not-thinking on their part, but if it’s what they’re used to doing, then jolting then into thinking at prove disastrous during the lab. We’ll see what comes of tomorrow.
I’m pretty nervous how they’re going to do next week during the hands-on lab final, if they’re not used to thinking.
