Day 58/180: More notes, and some calorimetry
Setting up lab notebooks ahead of time is fantastic. But other than saving time during class, for most kids, I’m not sure it helps them start to think about it. The kids who do think about the lab are the typical A-students who do that anyway. The rest have told me that they’ll think about it later, and I think we both know that’s not true.
A lot of what I’m wondering about regarding kids’ grades and successes seems to be about the amount of work they’re willing to do. Is it entirely motivational problems? Is it just work-ethic? Is it capacity for subject materials?
